January 2023 Newsletter

Happy New Year to you all! We would like to wish you all the very best for a fantastic 2023. We have had a great start to the New Year. January is often a quiet month, but we have found our partners have been very busy planning the year ahead with so many events.

If you are planning your events then don’t forget to add them onto your profile as we have thousands of people looking for events, venues and things to do throughout the year.

Some of the categories that have been particularly popular have been Valentine’s Day, walks, hotels, and music amongst many others. Also, many of our partners hold weddings and receptions at their venues and these have been a popular search recently. So, if you have any events that you want to promote or any speciality that you provide at your venue, then spread the word via our app and website

User Tips

Don’t forget to add plenty of keywords to help you get notice, add plenty of photos to show off what you do, add all your events that you have going on. If you are adding events on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter then don’t forget to use #whatsoninkent. Also follow us on all the social media platforms, we are starting to do lots with TikTok now!

New Baby

We are delighted that our colleague Chris, has become a proud father of baby Holly. Both baby and parents are doing well, congratulations Chris!

New packages & pricing

From February we will be introducing new services giving partners a choice of packages. We will still be providing the basic level of service, but for those partners who have more to promote we will be offering a new Standard and Advanced service. We will also be offering discounts and three months free of charge on all packages for partners who pay in advance for the yearly service. For those people who haven’t come on board yet, if you are quick there is still time to beat the February price increase.

Competitions

We are working with our partners to bring you more competitions, so if you have a prize that you wish to donate for our users to have a chance to win, then let us know. Competitions get great engagement and always get a return on investment. They’ll be free and easy to enter and our last competition saw quite a few winners win pairs of tickets for the Christmas fair at the Cyclopark in Gravesend. Our next competition will be to win a pair of tickets for the Zip Wire at Hangloose Adventure in Bluewater, keep an eye on our app and socials for details coming soon!

As well collaborating with our partners for competitions we will also be visiting our partners businesses and venues to create some video content; these videos will be to showcase what you offer and provide. We will then post them on our site and upload on social media, if you want to show off and promote what you have going on then get in touch with us at sales@whatsoninkent.com.

Networking

Our team has been out and about at some networking events this month at various venues such as The Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone organised by One Maidstone, Hayne House near Hythe organised by the Kent Chamber of Commerce and a great event organised by Steer Publishing at the Curious Brewery in Ashford. We love networking, it’s great to meet existing partners and future partners who are likeminded individuals. Network events help spread the word and gives us the chance to learn about all different types of businesses where we can work together whilst building relationships.

Our upcoming networking events will be including venues such as Sir Winston Churchill’s former home Chartwell in Westerham, Net Walking at Knowle Park in Sevenoaks, Kenward Place in Yalding, Kips Alehouse organised by Steer Publishing in Folkestone and TJ’s in Gravesend organised by Made in Kent Radio.

We are pleased to say that we have such a wide variety of partners, so being a partner with What’s on in Kent will help spread your company or venue to many other potential customers. We are planning on having our own networking events in 2023.

Our team are always visiting various places throughout our county to spread the word about the What’s on in Kent app. If you have something to shout about in your town or village, then let us know
