Tax Free Lego with DFDS

We have joined forces with the famous ferry company DFDS, when they came of board last year. We have had another meeting with them and are pleased to inform you that there will be some more exclusive discounts for What’s on in Kent users. Also, for any Lego fans you can make some Tax-Free purchases of Lego on board or in their Duty-Free Shop when you show your boarding pass,saving 20% on the retail price. Look out for special deals for a car and up to 5 passengers.

Betteshanger Park

We are pleased to confi rm that we will be holding our next What’s on in Kent networking event at our partner “Betteshanger Park” in Deal, CT14 0BF on 16th April 2024 from 10.30am-12.00pm.

Betteshanger Park is a stunning location set in 250 acres of land. This will be a networking event with a difference, where guests will be able to try their hand at Axe throwing and try out the purpose-built cycle track Park. Afterwards you will be able to network with some key Kent Businesses with food and drink provided by Betteshanger and served in the Glass Room. We would strongly advise anybody thinking of joining What’s on in Kent as a partner, to do so before this event, so you can have your profi le setup and ready to show off on the day to other businesses in Kent!

Heart of Kent Hospice - Partnership

8th March marked International Women's Day and Heart of Kent Hospice was thrilled to host the 2024 Karting Endurance Race Night. The event took place at another fantastic partner of ours, Buckmore Park, a world renowned racing circuit where many current and past Formula One drivers learned their race craft, including Lewis Hamilton! The evening was a great success and raised over £5241 for the heart of Kent Hospice.

On Saturday we went along to B Road at the Stag where we met up with some of the McLaren Owners club. There were also some other great marques there including Ferrari, Aston Martin Caterham and a lovely Porsche GT3. Summer is coming and so are the outdoor music events.

There is the TN90’s music festival in Tonbridge in May and also in June we have the Kent Food fest returning with a fantastic mix of food, music, cars, fun fayre and so much more.

Networking Events - Keeping Connected

Heart Of Kent Hospice Our MD Nick had the pleasure of meeting David Dadswell, Corporate Partnerships Manager of the Heart of Kent Hospice. Heart of Kent Hospice provides care and support for terminally ill people, their carers and families in Maidstone, Aylesford, Tonbridge & Malling. They care for all terminal conditions and diagnoses and ensure patients receive the best care, whether in the hospice, in their own home or in the local community.

Dementia Friendly Meeting This month the What’s on in Kent team was proud to attend the ‘Demetia friendly meeting’ which was organised by Brachers Solicitors and took place at the Mid Kent College in Tonbridge Road, Maidstone. The meeting was all about making people and companies more dementia aware and how companies can help people suffering with dementia with training.

Netwalking - The Mount Vineyard networking The Sevenoaks Chamber of Commerce organised the lovely Netwalking event we attended at The Mount Vineyard, generously sponsored by Thackray Williams. The weather was good and we set off up on a beautiful walk encountering some lovely views, cows, cyclists and other walkers. We met some really interesting people and a great time was had by all.

West Kent Expo 24 On Thursday 14th March 2024, we visited the West Kent Business Expo hosted at The River Centre, Tonbridge.

With over 50 exhibitors and workshops throughout the day, the Expo showcased and celebrated the businesses of West Kent.

The event brought as part of the West Kent Business programme, which is managed by Invest West Kent (the three West Kent Local Authorities of Sevenoaks District Council, Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council) in collaboration with Smarter Society.
