Networking with a Difference – Buttercups Goat Sanctuary

A huge thank you to our Charity of the Year, Buttercups Goat Sanctuary, for hosting our fantastic Networking with a Difference event, and to Gusbourne for providing their award-winning wines for all our guests! We’ve received amazing feedback, and as always, it was a pleasure reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new ones. A big thank you to everyone who attended!

Our next Networking with a Difference event will be at Gusbourne Estate on Monday, May 12th, at 11:00 AM. Join us for a guided vineyard tour, wine tasting, and delicious food. This event will also be car and bike friendly, just like our Betteshanger event.

Festival of Motoring - Valence School

Welcome to the 2025 Festival of Motoring at Valence School! It promises to be a day full of fun and excitement, both for car and motorcycle enthusiasts and for anyone who just enjoys a good day out!

The event will include an Autosolo competition where racers will complete timed loops round the Valence school grounds, in an effort to secure the fastest time of the day. Alongside this will be a display paddock containing classic, performance and rare cars and motorcycles, and a non-competitive parade of some of these vehicles during the day. This event will be run as a taster day, which means that spectators will have the opportunity to be a passenger in one of the race vehicles should they wish, and experience the high speed thrill of racing for themselves.

There will be many food and drink options, or feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds. There will also be a raffle, music, stalls, auto jumble and children’s activities, plus full commentary of the event so you can follow the progress of the racers.

All profit raised by Friends of Valence will be used directly for the benefit of Valence students. Valence School is a school that caters for children and young people aged 4-19 who have physical disabilities and complex medical needs. Buttercups Goat Sanctuary

Buttercups began in 1989 when Bob and Valerie Hitch decided to care for two unwanted goats. A few months later, the RSPCA approached them to take in another goat in urgent need, and this marked the beginning of a steady stream of goats arriving from around the county, many suffering from cruelty and neglect. By 2003, the number of goats in their care had grown so much that the sanctuary became a registered charity.
