VE DAY 80 CHARITY AFTERNOON TEA

In recognition of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe, we are hosting a Charity Afternoon Tea on Bank Holiday Monday 5th May 2025.

VE80 is an important opportunity for communities to come together to pay tribute to all those who served in the Second World War and to reflect on the values that they were fighting for. “At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them!”

£5 of every adult reservation and £3 of every child reservation will be donated to the SSAFA, The Armed Forces Charity.

While it has been decided that the official VE80 anniversary, Thursday 8th May, shall not be a bank holiday, we invite you to instead join us on the bank holiday Monday for an exquisite traditional afternoon in the Heritage Suite. At £35 per person, the afternoon will include a traditional afternoon tea with unlimited tea or filtered coffee, live entertainment and more importantly, your SSAFA Donation. Children are welcome at £20 per child.

While you dine, step back to the 1940s with the beautiful, close vocal harmony group “Blitz n Pieces” who will have you singing and swaying to all your favourite vintage tunes from the Andrews Sisters, Bing Crosby, Dame Vera Lynn and many more! We’re sure some Hollywood classics of the golden age will shine through too.

Guests are invited from 2.00pm in order to allow time for drinks at the Coach House Bar, prior to being seated for afternoon tea service at 2.30pm. The afternoon will end at approximately 4.15pm.

Dietary requirements will be catered for to include dairy free, gluten free, vegetarians and vegans but must be highlighted in advance.

Guests will be seated on tables between ten and twelve. Only parties of 10 are guaranteed private tables.

It would be great to see as many of you dressed up for the occasion in your vintage 30’s/40’s outfits, however casual dress of the modern era is also perfectly acceptable!

To confirm your booking, a £10 non-transferable and non-refundable deposit is required per person with the full balance and pre-orders to be settled 1 month prior to the event.

Payments can be made with card details over the phone only or by bank transfer on request. Please note that all payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. Cancellations, either by individuals or as a group including reduced attendance, received 1 month prior to event will result in loss of deposits. All cancellations received within 1 month of the event will unfortunately result in a full cancellation charge. Guests are entitled to a full reimbursement should the hotel cancel the event unless the hotel is forced to close following government guidelines where a full credit voucher only will be issued. Any cancellations must be confirmed in writing.
