Kenward Place is a beautiful Georgian house set in a rural setting just between Wateringbury and Yalding. In 1968, Ray and Violet Sinden opened their home to help homeless individuals from London recover from drug and alcohol addiction, and thus the Kenward Trust was set up. The Kenward Trust still does much work with addicts today helping them to transform their lives for the better, but now Kenward Place is open to the public and is a great day out for the whole family.
Kenward place offer archery experiences for guests aged 10 and above, this is geared towards archers of all ability levels so don’t worry if you don’t know what you’re doing! The experience lasts about 90 minutes giving you plenty of time to learn the basics before firing at targets.
Another activity which Kenward Place offer is Disk Golf, also known as Frisbee Golf. This family-friendly activity has similar rules to regular golf and guests can choose between a 9- or 18-hole course laid out across the beautiful 15-acre grounds. Animals are also very close to Kenward Place’s heart, they have residential goats and alpacas and offer experiences to meet, feed and walk their furry friends. These experiences are ideal for children aged 5+ and offer the chance to get close-and-personal with these adorable creatures.
As well as the fun daytime activities offered by the Kenward Place, their charity The Kenward Trust helps about 100 residents each year across five locations. They offer accommodation as well as a 12-steps process to help recovering addicts to take responsibility for their own emotions and behaviors with the goal of helping them to create new futures for themselves, because everyone deserves a second chance at life. In addition, all profits created by Kenward Place’s activities goes towards funding the Kenward Trust’s social work.
Kenward Place is also an ideal venue for businesses, with venue hire options available for conferences, training sessions, business meetings and networking events. They also offer ‘away-days’ for businesses to help boost team morale and team building, these can be customized to your teams needs and act as a great team day out.
Their newly re-named café ‘The Retreat’ also offers a selection of light lunches, cakes, snacks, and drinks to keep you satisfied on your visit, and their gift shop sells a wide selection of goodies and souvenirs from your trip.
