What’s on in Kent hosted our first Networking Event on Wednesday 27th September in collaboration with The Kentish Lady River Boat. Starting at The Malta Inn at Allington Lock, the What’s on in Kent team and a group of app partners, as well as other local business owners all boarded the Kentish Lady boat, where we set sail down the River Medway as the sun set. Our networking event was an evening filled with getting to know like-minded people and their businesses in Kent and a way to discuss how we can work together. As Nick, the captain of The Kentish Lady, took us past Allington Marina and Allington Castle the drinks were flowing thanks to Mic at the bar.
As we sailed past the Village Hotel, which is just a short walk from The Malta Inn, Dan from The Smarter Energy Group gave us a presentation about how they are dedicated to helping companies reduce their energy costs, lower their carbon emissions, and become leaders in sustainable energy usage. It was interesting to hear how their technology can save up to 19% on energy bills. We then travelled past Whatman Park before we got to Archbishops Palace, where we picked up one of our app partners Ollie from Drakes Cork and Cask - One of the oldest pubs in Maidstone, home to live music and juke box Thursdays. As we passed the nighttime canoe club we got to East Farleigh by the Victory Pub where we turned around to finish off our final leg of the trip down the river Medway back to The Malta Inn.
Our first networking event went down a storm. Thank you to our app partners such as Chilston Park Hotel, Spitting Feathers, Quiz Trail, The Village Hotel, Kenward Place, JDL Deliveries and many more for joining us. Following the event we are really looking forward to welcoming new partners; Thai Orchid, Handpicked Hotels and The Smarter Energy Group to What’s on in Kent.
