What's on in Kent - Tenterden Operatic and Dramatic Society

Tenterden Operatic & Dramatic Society (TODS) has been entertaining audiences since July 1958 with the amalgamation of the Tenterden Players and The Masquers. We are longstanding members of the Kent Drama Association (KDA) and the National Operatic & Dramatic Association (NODA) which supports local drama groups.

Usually TODS produces three shows a year -at Tenterden Town Hall and the Sinden Theatre. These consist of a musical in February and two plays in the summer and autumn. Unfortunately due to extensive refurbishments at the Town Hall, TODS has had to look for alternative, temporary venues to present our productions. We have used The Smarden Charter Hall for Bedroom Farce and our recent production of On Broadway. We will be presenting Ladies’ Day at The Barn Theatre, Smallhythe in September 2024. We will be producing our February 2025 musical at The Sinden Theatre, Homewood School. We will return to our home venue in Tenterden as soon as the Town Hall refurbishments have been completed.

TODS’ is a small, friendly drama group with a professional ethic and mission to bring top quality productions to audiences in Tenterden and the surrounding areas. We produce a diverse range of productions including Musicals, Comedies, Dramas and Revues.

Pearl, Jan, Shelly and Linda work together in a fish factory in Hull. It’s 2005, the year that Royal Ascot relocated to York, and for Pearl’s retirement they decide to swap their factory clothes and hair nets for posh dresses and fascinators and go to Ladies’ Day.
